FROM SEA TO SHINING SEA…

...FROM FLORIDA TO CALIFORNIA!

The 10th annual Disney Symposium for top producing tour operators was held in June at Disney's new Grand Californian Hotel adjacent to the new California Adventure theme park.  For three days, Kathy LeTarte, President and Tom Merrill, West Coast Tour Consultant, met with staff from both coasts of Disney Resorts and learned all of the up to the minute news.   New Horizons received the  top award for bringing the most performing groups to Orlando to perform as part of the Magic Music Days program among  the other awards mentioned in this newsletter. 
So what's happening at Disney, here is some news...

In California, at Disneyland students will thrill to the rides and slides and at California Adventure soar above the entire state in a glider!
* Look for the opening of the
Who wants to be a Millionaire at California Adventure
* Include a  two-day park hopper for both
Disneyland and California Adventure
* Perform in parades and on stages in both parks!
* Participate in one of  three spectacular series of music workshops:
* Academy Series Workshops for developing young music groups.
* Industry Series Workshops for upper level intermediate to advance music groups.
* Seminars which are interactive classes giving a look at the inside of how Disney magic is created

In Florida at  the Walt Disney World Resort, your students can be part of the current Who wants to be a Millionaire  guest show at Disney/MGM Studios, party at the street festival in Epcot, experience Alien Encounter at the Magic Kingdom, or  take a safari at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
* Perform on a Walt Disney World stage or march in a parade as part of the "100 Years of Magic" celebration beginning in October of 2001
* March in the
Share a Dream Come True parade at Magic Kingdom
* Dance to the rhythm's of the
"Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade" at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
* Party in Epcot at the "Tapestry of Dreams" parade and street festival
Participate in a
Premium Disney Workshop.

* Pose for a professional group photo (in uniform) in front of the castle
