SPECIAL PERFORMANCES FOR GROUPS AT THE LINCOLN CENTER AND CARNEGIE HALL!

The Northwest HS Choir poses in front of Carnegie Hall before their performance .  The choir, under the direction of Wendy Lake Treacher, performed with Moses Hogan in a massed choir event in late February. This event was attended by several groups from Michigan including:  Walled Lake Western HS, Walled Lake Central HS, Lincoln HS, and Avondale HS.

Performing groups now have excellent opportunities to perform on the world's most famous stages!  Several companies offer varying performances for instrumental and choral groups in both Carnegie Hall and at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.  Here are some of the offerings that your New Horizons Tour Consultant can incorporate into your next New York tour.
Festivals of Music is offering Premium Performances at Lincoln Center.  This program offers choral groups a performance in Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.  Each group will be allowed to perform for 10 minutes on their own and asked to participate in two closing selections performed with the Broadway Inspirational Voices.
Field Studies of New York offers performance opportunities for choral groups in Carnegie Hall and at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.  Groups attending these events will participate in a massed choir performance with a renowned guest conductor.  Field Studies also offers the National Invitational Concert Band and National Invitational Orchestra Festival held in Carnegie Hall.  This program is adjudicated and offers groups the opportunity to perform their own literature on this exceptional stage.

Berlin High School students from Berlin, CT had a surprising change in their itinerary recently.  While in New York City for their spring tour, the group walked by ABC Studios and was offered tickets to be on the taping of celebrity version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire!  The group sat in the studio audience and saw Ben Stiller, Alfre Woodard, Martin Short, and Chevy Chase not to mention Regis!  Thanks to their quick thinking escort, David Filipiak, they were able to change their itinerary!  Watch for the group on the show soon!
